The Moeller PKZM0-1/SP is a 3-phase thermal magnetic manual motor protector designed to safeguard motors and branch circuits. It offers an adjustable thermal range of 0.63–1 A for motor overload protection and a magnetic trip response of 14 A for short-circuit protection. With a UL/CSA horsepower rating of 0.5 HP at 230 V, the device is UL-listed and CSA-certified as a Type E self-protected combination controller, combining overload, short-circuit, disconnect, and controller functions into one compact unit. This eliminates the need for separate protective devices and simplifies system design. The PKZM0-1/SP is also approved for group installations per NEC 430.53 and CEC Rule 28-206, reducing cost and panel space requirements. It may be combined with contactors for remote operation and is suitable as a Type E starter for grounded Wye systems above 240 V.
