FAZ Circuit Breakers
FAZ Circuit Breakers

Moeller's FAZ line of miniature circuit breakers includes devices that are listed and certified as molded case circuit breakers per UL 489 and CSA 22.2, No. 5-02. They are ideal for the protection of power supplies, control power transformers, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, florescent lighting (to 20A) and many other applications requiring a primary protective device.

Moeller's FAZ Branch Circuit Breakers are available in one, two and three-pole configurations with 20 different current ratings ranging from 0.5 to 40A. All breakers are available in both C and D tripping curves, providing protection for applications where medium and high levels of inrush are expected.

FAZ Branch Circuit Breakers are available in two terminal configurations: standard box terminals that accept multiple conductors, and ring-tongue terminals, ideally suited to the demanding requirements of the semiconductor industry.

FAZ breaker terminals provide finger and back-of-hand protection to guard against accidental contact with live parts. All FAZ breakers also incorporate a "trip free" mechanism to prevent the trip function from being defeated by holding the operator in the ON position. In addition, all FAZ branch circuit breakers are UL listed and CSA certified for fuseless protection of smaller AWG 18 and 16 conductors.

Circuit Breaker Communication System

The electricity magnetizes the electromagnet. Increasing current boosts the electromagnet's magnetic force, and decreasing current lowers the magnetism. When the current jumps to unsafe levels, the electromagnet is strong enough to pull down a metal lever connected to the switch linkage. The entire linkage shifts, tilting the moving contact away from the stationary contact to break the circuit. The electricity shuts off.

Circuit Breaker Facts

IPX2 related to the IEC60529 rating which is defined as:
The IP Code defined in international standard IEC 60529 classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures.[1] It consists of the letters IP (for "international protection rating"[2], sometimes also interpreted as "ingress protection rating") followed by two digits and an optional letter. The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as "waterproof".
